Blue Folder for Glider Pilot

The blue Glider Pilot's Kit contains:
- The Glider Pilot's Manual (DTO/ATO approved)
- The Glider Pilot's Progress Booklet

This regularly-updated book complies with current European regulations for glider pilots. It presents all the basic knowledge and skills required to obtain the Glider Pilot's License (SPL) and its extensions.

Designed to combine theory and practice, it follows the learning progression from first take-off to gliding over the countryside.

It was originally produced with the support of the National Gliding Centers at La Montagne Noire and Saint-Auban.

After a complete inventory of the knowledge necessary and sufficient for a glider pilot, it was written and illustrated by three pilot instructors from the Service de la Formation Aéronautique et du Contrôle Technique:

- Gabriel Chenevoy, instructor, chief pilot, high-level competitor, then test pilot ;

- Jean Michel Thellier, glider and airplane instructor, then airline pilot;

- Robert Prat, instructor trainer, chief pilot, top-level competitor, then airline pilot.

This booklet enables both the instructor and the student to follow the student's progress.
This booklet is filled in by the instructor during the debriefing at the end of a ground or flight training session.
It is made up of 3 global grids:
Module 1 - Vers le Lâche,
Module 2 - Perfectionnement,
Module 3 - Objectif SPL
which provide a quick overview of the student's progress,
and Session Sheets where the details of each course can be consulted.
