With a pilot's license, you can fly to any of the many aerodromes in France. However, many pilots are reluctant to consider such trips, especially to atypical airfields such as those located near mountainous areas, or in controlled airspace close to major airports. This book aims to demystify the difficulties of such journeys. It offers the reader the chance to "experience" real VFR navigation from inside the aircraft cockpit, from flight preparation through to execution. Abundantly illustrated with photographs, complete with transcriptions of radio transmissions, and supported by the aeronautical documentation required for the flight, this book allows the reader to follow a navigation including self-information, AFIS and controlled aerodromes. Intended for pilots in training who are just beginning to navigate, or for licensed pilots wishing to return to the air, this book, which does not claim to describe the best method of aerial navigation, is intended to give or restore pilots the desire and confidence to navigate by updating their knowledge.
