A flight log is an essential document for all pilots, whether amateurs or professionals. It allows for the detailed recording of each flight, noting information such as flight hours, aircraft type, weather conditions, and aircraft performance.

Flight logs are used for several reasons, such as tracking flight hours. Pilots often need to prove certain flight hours to maintain their certification or license. The flight summary allows pilots to keep a record of their flight experience for future review or aircraft maintenance.

There are also aviation regulations where aviation authorities often require pilots to fill out a flight log to comply with safety standards.
