Flight log and maintenance for ULM

In France, the airworthiness of a microlight is governed by a declaratory system. French regulations do not require a logbook or standardized maintenance book to authorize the operation of an ultralight. However, the aircraft owner is required to have a maintenance manual specific to his model. Every two years, he must certify to the authorities that the microlight is in good flying condition, and that it has been maintained in accordance with the instructions in this document. He must endeavor to be able to show that his declaration is made in good faith and effectively reflects the monitoring of the airworthiness of his aircraft.

The purpose of this logbook is to help the owner, who is responsible for the airworthiness of his microlight, to comply with his obligations by enabling him to rigorously record the technical follow-up of the aircraft, and to attest to this both to the public authorities and in the event of transfer and operation by another user.
