The Garmin G5 is an electronic flight instrument designed for the amateur-built aircraft (EAB) and light sport aircraft (LSA) markets. The G5 is compact and cost-effective. It offers outstanding performance and reliability, serving either as a backup flight instrument, coupled to the G3X ™ or other EFIS-type systems, or as a stand-alone Primary Flight Display (PFD), with autopilot mode annunciation option.

Featuring a bright, anti-glare 3.5" LCD screen with integrated GPS, the G5 displays artificial horizon, rate of climb, altitude, airspeed, vertical speed, turn and sideslip indicators. Even more features are available when the G5 is integrated with the G3X ™ flight displays.

In addition, the G5 can be used as a tool for an autonomous autopilot solution when coupled with autopilot control panels (e.g. GMC 307) or compatible servos (e.g. GSA 28).

Simplified cockpit integration

The G5 offers EAB/LSA hobby aircraft owners a cost-effective way to add a primary or backup flight instrument to their cockpits, combining essential flight information on an easy-to-read display. Sized to fit a standard 3-1/8" (79.4 mm) installation, the G5 can easily be integrated into an amateur-built or LSA aircraft cockpit. The easy-to-install G5 flight instrument measures 3 inches deep when mounted with the optional battery backup, and 2.1 inches without the battery. Installation is further simplified as the G5 incorporates pitot and static port inputs that integrate easily with the aircraft's existing pitot/static system. The G5 includes an integrated GPS antenna.
