GAD 13 OAT for G5, Garmin interface

The G5 electronic flight instrument is now capable of displaying outside temperature (OAT) and true airspeed (TAS) using a temperature sensor and the new Garmin GAD™ 13 adapter. As with other Garmin products, OAT is displayed at the bottom of the anemometer, while TAS is displayed at the top of the anemometer. When the G5 is configured as a directional gyro (DG) or horizontal situation indicator (HSI), wind speed and direction are also displayed in the upper left corner of the G5. For stand-alone G5 installations, GAD 13 and a temperature sensor are required. For aircraft where the G5 is coupled to a compatible PFD such as the G3X Touch, the G5 will display this information with a software update. New for experimental aircraft, the G5 can also display density altitude below the altimeter when the aircraft is on the ground.
