Towflexx
TowFLEXX, founded on the ingenuity and passion of its founders, has become a major global player in the field of aircraft towing equipment (towing tractors). The story began when Hanns Schickling, an aviation enthusiast, was looking for a compact solution to move his own small airplane out of the hangar. This need led to the creation of the first "SchleppMAXXE", a motorized towing aid he developed, which quickly attracted attention.
Today, led by Axel Schickling with the support of Steffen Hake and Florian Hoffmann, TowFLEXX has expanded its product range to include a full family of devices capable of moving airplanes and helicopters weighing up to 60,000 kg (132,000 lb). This range meets the diverse needs of aircraft owners, armed forces, and renowned aircraft manufacturers around the world.
TowFLEXX's growth has not been limited to Europe. In 2014, the company took its first steps in the United States with the establishment of TowFLEXX Incorporate in Brookhaven, PA. Since then, it has consolidated its presence in the U.S. market and expanded its customer base, including renowned players such as the US Air Force and major DAX companies.
What sets TowFLEXX apart in the market are its powerful units with wireless remote control that offers great freedom of movement around the aircraft, ensuring maximum safety. One of the highlights is its unique turntable, which stabilizes the aircraft's nose wheel during towing operations, thus preserving the sensitive landing gear.
Looking ahead, TowFLEXX is focusing on innovation, automation, and digitization to further enhance the user experience. New towing vehicles for larger airplanes, solutions for helicopters, and other innovations are under development in the ground support equipment category.
TowFLEXX continues to push the boundaries of aircraft towing equipment technology, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability for operators around the world.
