Although ATPLs will be flying mainly turbojet-powered aircraft, the first part of their practical training will be on piston-engine aircraft. It's important to understand thermodynamics in both cases.
A training technician, Roger CIRYCI has for many years put his skills to work for training organizations such as ENAC or ISAE SUP'AERO - EUROSAE, and as a project manager at the DGAC or Airbus Training. A leading diesel specialist, he wrote the "piston engines" section of this book.
Gérald DAVERDIN, another technician, holds a DUT in technology and is a ground instructor with Air France. He has completed numerous internships with major manufacturers, making him a specialist in turbomachinery. He was responsible for writing the "turbine engines" section of this book.
Philippe Mosca, an aeronautical engineer, was responsible for the helicopter section.
This book is based on the theoretical ATPL syllabus, in line with Lo's 2018, and is also suitable for preparation for the theoretical CPL.
