In 1939, the Van Os brothers launched their company under the name "Brothers Van Os" in the village of Benschop, an agricultural stronghold near Chartres. Originally focused on the trade of agricultural products, their business was disrupted by the arrival of World War II, marking a difficult period for business in the Netherlands.
After the war, the Van Os brothers turned to the trade of military surplus and leftover stocks intended for army units. They began by purchasing surplus military equipment from U.S. Army units in Europe, marking the start of an adventure in an extraordinary and adventurous industry. The products included jerry cans, textiles, and other surplus military materials, initially stored in the pastures and barns behind the family farm.
With the growing success of their business, it became necessary to build new buildings to store the military surplus. Thus, a new business complex was born, with the first shovel being wielded by Floris van Os, son of Gert van Os, the company's founder.
Floris van Os, imbued with the ambition to develop the business, marked the entry of a new generation of Van Os into the family business.
In the 1980s, Van Os expanded its horizons by importing products from the Far East, capitalizing on technological advancements to diversify its offerings. Thus, a completely new range of military and outdoor products was born.
Recognizing the importance of strong brands, Van Os introduced its first official brands: Fostex Garments, Fosco Industries, Stealth, Kosumo, and Longhorn, targeting the military, outdoor, motorcycle, and security sectors.
With the introduction of its own brands and a range of unique products, Van Os gained a reputation for reliability in the military and outdoor sectors. The company expanded its product range, gradually reducing its military surplus activity to meet the growing demand for new, innovative, and high-quality products.
In 2003, Van Os made a strategic decision by building a modern business complex with a storage capacity of 7,500 m², integrating logistical efficiency and automation.
At the dawn of the 2000s, Van Os launched its first B2B e-commerce website, responding to the digital era with an innovative platform that allowed customers to easily place orders 24/7.
In 2010, Van Os introduced the brand "101 Incorporated" to meet the growing demand for high-quality tactical products, particularly in the field of "Airsoft" simulation games. Today, 101 INC offers a complete range of cutting-edge tactical gear and Airsoft products.
